Doug always takes a tenant-centric view to building new stores for retailers, and recognizes that relationships are paramount in this business.  For those reasons, Doug established a solid relationship with Walgreens, who trusted him to develop more than 15 new stores in Kansas and Missouri.  Doug and his Walgreens counterparts understood that no transaction was perfect, and that they would need to mutually address unforeseen issues that arose during the course of development (such as buying existing businesses or assembling multiple parcels to create a pad suitable to Walgreens).  Over the course of time, this mutual give-and-take succeeded for both the developer and the tenant.
